The danceScape Endowment Fund, established through the Burlington Community Foundation, is dedicated to enriching the quality of life of People through Arts & Culture, Recreation, and Health Support Services.

The Fund was created by Robert Tang and Beverley Cayton-Tang, 3-time Canadian and 2-time North American Amateur Ballroom Champions from Burlington, Ontario.  The Tangs have appeared as Dance Experts on CBC Television, CH Television, W-Network, Slice, Discovery Health USA, and HGTV.

Early in their competitive careers, the Tangs were inspired and mentored by other passionate coaches.  As the Tangs continued to develop as world-class competitors, they benefited from annual fundraising initiatives organized and supported by local community groups, family, and friends.  This enabled them to represent Canada at five World Championship events.

In 2001, with the help of an Angel investor, the Tangs began a new chapter of their lives as business entrepreneurs.  As with most start-up companies, they faced many challenges.  But the Tangs persevered through the help of business mentors, and are now transforming the dance and creative arts industry.

Robert’s mother, Judy Tang, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2009 and passed away in August 2012. The fund was established to honour her courageous battle. She, along with Robert’s father Aaron, were passionate about the Arts and especially Ballroom & Latin Dancing.

Their journey has led them to seek out other entrepreneurs and business leaders to work towards a common vision that will advance the technical and business skills of creative artists, and improve the quality of life of members of our community through Arts & Culture, Recreation, and Health Support Services.

Our fundraising activities focus on fun services and products that create personal growth, health & wellness, and financial support for fund beneficiaries: Breast Cancer Survivors; Entrepreneurs from the Creative Arts field; Senior Citizens facing Financial or Health-Related Challenges; and Underpriviliged Youth/Teens & Children.  Join us at our next Fundraising Event!

$25,000 will establish the fund for self-sustainability.  We are appreciative of founding Partners like Janac – Mastectomy Wear For Fighters and Survivors for originally coming on board to assist with fundraising designated to Breast Cancer Support Services.
