What is the impact of teaching Ballroom if I am also interested in competition?
Once you begin to teach Ballroom Dancing, you are newly categorized as a “Professional” (i.e., you now make money teaching dance). As a Professional, you are not permitted to compete against other Amateur (non-teaching) dancers, which limits your competing opportunities. This is a major decision and is not to be taken lightly. Pro-Am competition (a couple consisting of a Professional and an Amateur) is an option. Please speak to a danceScape representative for any further clarification.
