Show or hide the answer danceTONE
I've completed a session of danceTONE - is there another level?

While there is no "Level 1" for danceTONE, the course content changes each term, so you're not repeating yourself each term.

Fall:  Cha Cha, Samba, Salsa

Winter:  Cha Cha, Jive, Samba

Spring:  Cha Cha, Salsa, Jive

If you've enjoyed attending classes once a week, you can double your fun (and save money) by coming twice a week!

You might also find that danceTONE has given you the confidence you need to start partner dancing.  If you have an interest in this, try our Absolute Beginners Ballroom or Club Dancing Workshop.

Show or hide the answer absolute beginners ballroom
You've got 3 choices after completing the "absolute beginners ballroom" program.

1.  Continue with "absolute beginners ballroom".
If you're having difficulty remembering the steps from the beginning of the course, or if you want to get a stronger foundation, you can take the course again.  The content will be the same, and it's a good way to make sure you've got the basics down pat.

2.  Make a lateral move to "absolute beginners club dancing".
If you enjoyed the Latin dances (Cha Cha, Rumba, Salsa, and Jive), you might want to try the Club Class.

It focuses on the three main Latin "Club" Dances (Merengue, Salsa and Bachata) as well as Swing (similar to Jive).

3.  Move up to "level 1 ballroom".
If you've got a good grasp of the dances you've covered in the past 10 weeks, and feel you're ready to take it to the next level, try the Level 1 Class.

The content of the course alternates from session to session:

A)  Tango, Jive and Rumba

B)  Waltz, Foxtrot and Cha Cha

Call the office at 905-633-8808 to find out which content is being covered next session!

Continuing in the Level 1 Ballroom course doesn't mean a repeat of last term.

The content of the Level 1 Ballroom course alternates between sessions:

A)  Waltz, Foxtrot and Cha Cha

B)  Tango, Jive and Rumba

So, if you've just finished one term, next time you get to do 3 dances you likely haven't done since Absolute Beginners Ballroom.

If you're ready for a real change of pace, consider trying our Club Dancing program - either at the Absolute Beginners Level, or (if you've already completed that course), at Level 1 in Club Salsa or Swing.

Show or hide the answer Private and Semi-Private Lessons
When you feel you've learned all you can from group workshops, it might be time to consider Private or Semi-Private Lessons

Private Lessons are one-on-one - either you and your instructor, or you and your partner and your instructor.  They are scheduled for a time that works for you (and your instructor), and you decide what the content of the lesson will be.  You might want to focus solely on one dance (like Waltz).  Or, you might want to learn all the styles of dance for your favourite music.  Or, you might want to get ready for a competition - the sky's the limit.

Semi-Private lessons the mid-point between Private and Group Lessons.  Groups must have at least 6 and no more than 20 people, and must be arranged by the students.  Like private lessons, they are scheduled at a time that suits you (and based on instructor and facility availability), and you can focus on whatever you like best.

For more information on private and semi-private lessons, call 905-633-8808 or email events@dancescape.com
