Wedding Dance: How to Prepare for Your First Dance

Shall we dance?

Your Wedding Day is the most romantic day of your life – you’ve taken care of all the other details, but what about your FIRST DANCE?  Here are some tips to make the special moment last a lifetime (even if you’re dance-challenged).

Select your music a few months before the Wedding. Choose a song that is both special to you and ‘danceable’. The most romantic tend to be Foxtrot, Rumba and Waltz.  For the more daring, Tango is dramatic and Swing is lots of fun.

Like flowers and photos, your first dance will be enhanced by a professional’s touch. A qualified instructor can choreograph, and help you learn to dance within 6 – 10 private lessons.  Learn a few basic steps or patterns and do them well, with a strong beginning and end.  If you’ve got time, consider taking a group class first to get you used to dancing with each other.

Practice, Practice, Practice. The more you practice between lessons, the more you will remember for your Wedding Day.
