Canadian champs Virtue and Moir win world ice dancing silver medals

The Canadian Press

Tessa Virtue, 18, and Scott Moir, 20, are among the youngest skaters ever to step onto the world ice dancing podium. She was only seven and he was only nine when they began skating together. They won the world junior title two years ago and were sixth at the senior level last year.

The Ilderton Skating Club's spring carnival just took on added lustre.

When Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir step onto their home-club ice in the southwestern Ontario town just north of London in three weeks - it's a Viva Las Vegas theme this year - they'll be introduced not only as Canadian champions but as world silver medallists.
