Robert Tang

Robert Tang is fast becoming recognized as the voice for Arts Entrepreneurship in Canada.

His personal mission is to inspire and empower Performing & other Creative Artists.  He is passionate about connecting with other Arts-based Entrepreneurs and Business Mentors who are blazing the trail for a new generations of business savvy professional artists. His official blog is at www.robert-tang.com.

Robert is a former three-time Canadian and two-time North American Undefeated Amateur Standard Ballroom Champion with his wife, Beverley Cayton-Tang. He secured Angel Venture Capital Funding from Timberline Venture Partners (which was a Draper, Fisher, Jurvetson Network Fund) in 2000 to launch danceScape, where he is Founder, President & CEO.

Robert received his Master of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business in Toronto and his Bachelors of Science in Mathematics from McMaster University in Hamilton.

He has been featured in many print advertising campaigns such as MPAC and Tourism Hamilton, as well as on such television shows as "The Healthy Gourmet" (Oprah Winfrey Network), "Dragons' Den" (CBC Television), "Fortune Hunters" (CBC Television), "Til Debt Do Us Part" (W Network), "Save Me From My House" (W-Network), and "GROOMED" (W-Network).  

He was featured in a national television commercial for ParticipACTION, the national voice for physical activity and sport participation in Canada. Along with other selected Canadians, The organization's goal is to inspire Canadians to increase their level of activity and to inspire society to make it easier to become more physically active. Robert's story (Ballroom Dancing for Fun, Fitness & Romance) was one out of almost 2,000 stories collected through ParticipACTIONs Get Inspired. Get Moving. campaign.

Robert with his wife and business partner, Beverley Cayton-Tang, created their 2-DVD set, "For Absolute Beginners Ballroom Dancing", which is available now at retailers in the US such as www.amazon.com, Barnes & Noble and Best Buy, and in Canada through www.shopdragonsden.com. A portion of proceeds from shopdragonsden.com will go towards the danceScape Endowment Fund, which is dedicated to enriching the quality of life of People through Arts & Culture, Recreation, and Movement-Based Health & Wellness Activities.
